Announcement - September 30, 2023
We regret to inform you that Christy ("Woods") passed away on September 1, 2023. We did not learn of this until recently - an on-line friend of Christy's called the coroner and then made this announcement:
"Per contact with her brother, Christy Woods died on Sept. 1st at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie while an inpatient, of heart complications."
Our last contact with her had been the night before, when Christy reported her hospital roommate had passed away. We had heard nothing in the meantime until I (Scott Gordon) was contacted by the friend who was in touch with the coroner and wanted to pass my contact information to her family to facilitate their looking for her youngest son (Luke).
What We Have Since Discovered
We have found that Christy was not telling us the truth about her family (this was not entirely new to us, because when pressed for the reason for the contradictions present in her news article of 2022, she broke down and admitted to me that she was ashamed of not having a family, and so she had invented details to the reporter that were in contradiction to the story she had held to us was true for as long as we knew her until the end of her life).
After reaching out to an estranged brother (name withheld here to honor privacy for her surviving family) we discovered that, according to him, Christy had apparently not been in active contact with her family, with the exception of occasional contact with her mother, since leaving home after graduating high school at age 17. This is in contradiction to Christy's story to us, captured on a video interview (see transcript at the "Interview" tab of this site) and several written exchanges, of her family and of her early age joining the Sea Organization of Scientology, including that she was recruited in Florida (Christy told us they were Canadians but lived in Florida). Interestingly, he told me the family knew only vaguely of some Scientology involvement on her part (along with some "ex-husband"), but had no knowledge of any children or her whereabouts for many years.
Since we can no longer vouch for the full reliability of Christy's story, some passages of this website have been removed, and unless anyone comes forward to corroborate or completely disprove any part of the story that Christy took with her to her death, this site will expire in another year, and will not be renewed.
Before I explain why this website will remain up, given that it is plain that Christy was lying about her family - specifically about their names and about her being in contact with her mother - if you feel you are owed an apology (and you are not on the "Hall of Shame & Harassment" page as a perpetrator), please contact me and let me know exactly what harm you have been caused. I will issue you an apology. This website is the harshest action that has been taken on anyone. It has not been widely publicized. There were a few names on this page that are at this publication being removed, and will soon be invisible to search engine results.
SO WHY LEAVE THIS SITE UP THEN?
The opportunity remains to possibly prove or disprove part or all of Christy's story, which she told with conviction and remarkable detail, and even with apparent knowledge of Sea Organization customs and security procedures that only an insider could have known (and my prior background with Scientology's Office of Special Affairs among other things had familiarized me with).
There are many unanswered questions that remain, and that, if we can get more information about, we will be posting here. Christy's suffering of severe health conditions was real and has been proven. Nothing else about this has.
There are only two possibilities that seem plausible. Maybe it is plain to you what these two possibilities are, and maybe you will agree, given that evidence for one of them is provided in abundance on this site (see the "Hall of Shame..." tab of this website)
* a rather chillingly accurate (as to the man's style of communication and choice of words) series of texts sent to Christy that she said were from David Miscavige, and the last two sent just a week or so before she died in the hospital
Why? Is this because Christy had no known psychiatric history and this was the only way someone thought would discredit her or drive her into complete silence or retraction?
Okay, true enough that the above is not proof that the events Christy claimed happened to her actually happened. The texts sent to Christy could have been "spoofed" by someone who knew Miscavige's texting style very well. What it does reveal is that whether Christy was knowingly or unknowingly in on any hoax, that she did not act alone. She appears to have, in fact, been given the very tools and props needed to present a case for some part of her story having plausibly happened.
Or, to state this in other words, given the apparent sincerity of her brother's reply to me, her story has become highly implausible, at least in some key parts. Yet the idea that she acted alone is equally implausible. If you have read this far, and you can wrap your wits around the known facts presented here thus far, then you might be inclined to agree with me that there could be some truth to her allegations, or that the only remaining explanation is that this has been a highly sophisticated and coordinated operation of one kind or another (in 2017 Christy came out of a very long silence, she said, to tell her story to the world, and she approached the Leah Remini Show, the St. Petersburg Times, and some other major media outlets).
Christy was apparently used knowingly or unknowingly in some misguided effort to create a hoax of some kind, or had been persuaded to cooperate in giving the world an altered version of real events, or else mind-controlled to truly believe something happened to her other than what actually took place.
Regardless of the other possibilities, this site will remain "published" and open to public view until further, confirming information appears to prove, disprove or explain any more of the above. We have ruled out the possibility that Christy acted alone. Even if she had a little motive of some kind (unlikely in itself, given her pathetic health condition keeping her in pain and in the hospital - the one thing we have been able to fully verify), she simply
had no means to do so.
